CAPE TOWN - Motorists making use of the Du Toitskloof Pass need to be extra vigilant due to snowfall in the area, Western Cape Traffic Police confirmed on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Sir Lowry's Pass was also affected by snow, but officials say it has since cleared up.

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa is appealing to motorists to be careful.

"We urge motorists to make use of the tunnel or alternative routes as the Du Toitskloof road is very slippery."

The bad weather is as a result of strong cold front that passed through the area on Thursday.
