Zuma: ANCYL still the organisation of choice
Zuma said the ANC Youth League has suffered a series of setbacks in recent years.
JOHANNESBURG - ANC President Jacob Zuma said the ANC Youth League has suffered a series of setbacks in recent years but the overwhelming support at its 69th birthday celebrations proved it's still the organisation of choice for the youth.
Zuma on Sunday celebrated the league's birthday in Polokwane which is the hometown of its expelled youth leader and addressed almost 20 thousand supporters.
Speaking at the gravesite of former youth league president Peter Mokaba, Zuma congratulated the national task team for rehabilitating the league's reputation.
"To border on counter revolution, we cannot allow it. And therefore comrades in the province have the responsibility to prove the point that the organisation is here alive and leading."
