Gauteng Health Dept denies 'care free' claims
Gauteng's Health Department has denied claims that they are care-free about the strike.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng's Health Department has denied claims that they are care-free about a health professional's strike at the Yusuf Dadoo Hospital in Krugersdorp.
The DA reported that staff at the West Rand hospital have been protesting against alleged corruption and equipment shortages.
It says staff including doctors and nurses have been holding lunchtime pickets the entire week and has called on the Health Department to intervene.
But the department's Simon Zwane has insisted they have not been made aware of the situation.
"The staff have not communicated to us what their concerns are. But I am aware of their picketing, but as soon as they let us know what the allegations are we will investigate."
