Suspected drug dealer arrested
The man is believed to a Mozambican national.
JOHANNESBURG - A suspected drug dealer was on Friday arrested after drugs worth over R800,000 were found in his possession.
He was arrested at the Lebombo border post between South Africa and Mozambique.
It is understood authorities discovered five boxes of a green plant substance in the suspect's vehicle.
South African Revenue Services (SARS) Marike Muller said the man is believed to a Mozambican national.
"We identified an individual and he attempted to escape.
"With the assistance of the SANDF (South African National Defence Force) at the border, we managed to arrest a foreign national who we then handed over with the drugs and the vehicle to the SAPS (South African Police Services)."
