Shaskia Michaels still missing
The four-year-old Mitchells Plain girl has been missing since Thursday last week.
CAPE TOWN - It's been a week since four-year-old Shaskia Michaels was reported missing from her home in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.
She was last seen outside her home, playing with friends.
Two men who were questioned in connection with her disappearance have since been released.
But authorities are still looking for a man named Robert Sylvester, whom they believe can help find her.
The City of Cape Town has offered a R50,000 reward for any information which could help authorities.
Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille said she's hoping people will start assisting authorities.
"We were hoping that by offering the incentive, people would come forward. I just hope we will soon find a conclusive lead."
The mayor fears time is running out for little Shaskia.
"We have to keep on trying and we cannot give up hope that we will find her alive."
Meanwhile, the girl's disappearance has sparked renewed interest in her neighbour Kauthar Bobbs's case.
Bobbs disappeared while playing at a nearby park in October last year. She has not yet been found.
