Kolbe named player of the month

CAPE TOWN - Western Province utility back Cheslin Kolbe was named the ABSA Currie Cup Player of the Month of August.

Kolbe has been a revelation in his debut Currie Cup season.

The 19-year-old has played a pivotal role in his side's first place on the points table and has mesmerised the crowds with his runs.

The Sharks coaching team were named Coach of the Month during the announcement ceremony in Durban on Thursday.

Brad Macleod-Henderson, Sean Everett and director of rugby Brendan Venter have proven themselves worthy of this award.

Their team is in second place on the log halfway through the competition.

Both winners received R10,000 each.

The Sharks coaching team decided to donate their winnings to Childline KwaZulu-Natal.
