Fourie out with rib injury
Coach Allister Coetzee was forced to make two changes to his starting line-up for game against the Bulls.
JOHANNESBURG - Western Province captain Deon Fourie has been ruled out for at least two weeks due to a rib injury.
Coach Allister Coetzee was forced to make two changes to his starting line-up ahead of the game against the Bulls at Loftus this weekend.
Lock De Kock Steenkamp takes over the captaincy with Michael Rhodes shifting to blindside flank.
Taz Fuzani takes over the No.4 jersey from Rhodes to make his Province debut.
Coetzee says this is Fuzani's opportunity to step up.
"Taz Fuzani has really played excellently in the Vodacom Cup. He's been training with us for the last couple of weeks, been part of our structures, he's really worked hard. It's an opportunity to have a look at Taz."
Coetzee says Fuzani will match up to the Bulls physicality.
"It's a big challenge for the young man, but it's a challenge that he is really looking forward to as well. I don't expect a hell of a lot, but he brings a lot of physicality to the team and that's why he was selected."
Meanwhile, Fourie was cleared of foul play after being cited for allegedly eye gouging Sharks flank Keegan Daniel.
