Brad Pitt promotes new film
Actor Brad Pitts says he hopes his latest movie will have a moving impact on viewers.
TORONTO - Award winning actor Brad Pitt said on Tuesday he hopes his latest film, 12 Years a Slave, has a moving impact on the audiences that go out and see it.
Pitt is currently at the Toronto International Film Festival, where the film, which is based on the true story of slavery in the Deep South, is picking up glowing reviews.
The actor said he still believes in the power of movies.
"As a fan of film, my earliest recollection was of films and the impact they had on me. This is one of those visual experiences."
He said he hopes this film has a positive impact.
"Ultimately it's reminding us of our responsibility to take care of each other."
12 Years a Slave is based on the true story of Solomon Northup, a free man who was sold into slavery in the late 1800's.
