Springboks strangle Wallabies in Brisbane

SA are now top of the Rugby Championship log after a bonus point win over Australia.

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa are top of the Rugby Championship log following their bonus point win over Australia in Brisbane.

The Boks beat the Wallabies 38-12.

This is the first win by South Africa over Australia in Brisbane since 1971.

Leading 16-6 at Half-time, thanks to a try from Coenie Oosthuizen the Boks held the Wallabies tryless as they ran in 3 second-half tries by captain Jean de Villiers - his 23rd in this 90th Test. Willie le Roux and Zane Kirchner also crossed over for tries in the second half while Morne Steyn kicked 20 points.

Francois Louw was named as the man of the match.
