Police probe school stabbing
A 16-year-old boy was stabbed several times at Bonteheuwel High School.
CAPE TOWN - A 17-year-old Bonteheuwel pupil was released into his parents care after he was arrested for allegedly stabbing another learner on the school grounds.
The suspect apparently stabbed a 16-year-old pupil several times at Bonteheuwel High School this week after they were involved in an argument.
The police's Andre Traut said, "A 16-year-old boy was stabbed with a sharp instrument at a school in Bonteheuwel. Shortly afterwards, a 17-year-old suspect was arrested but later released."
Police are investigating the matter.
In March, a grade nine Oscar Mpetha High School learner was stabbed twice in the stomach and sustained cuts to his head.
Four learners were taken in for questioning.
No arrests were made.
In another incident, an 18-year-old pupil was stabbed to death on a school bus in Cape Town.
The victim was stabbed in the heart with scissors.
