Bismarck likely to start against Wallabies
Bismarck du Plessis is expected to start ahead of Adriaan Strauss in Saturday’s match.
JOHANNESBURG - The Springboks are in Brisbane preparing for Saturday's Rugby Championship match against Australia.
Coach Heyneke Meyer is expected to make changes and opt for a fresher side.
He's expected to select Bismarck du Plessis ahead of Adriaan Strauss for the game on Saturday.
"Bismarck is 100 percent match fit and I'm happy with his performance so there's a good chance that he will start this Saturday. I was really happy with what the medical team did. His fitness is up there and it's important for me to have fresh players on the field on Saturday.
"Adriaan [Strauss] has really played a lot of rugby. He's played almost every test match and Super Rugby match. Bismarck will definitely get a start in the next two games and he will also be the vice-captain if he starts."
Meyer will rest as many players as possible and will rotate others where necessary.
"There will be a few changes, I want to have the freshest possible team on the field. We have travelled a lot and it's not an excuse, it's probably more or less the same for everyone at the end of the competition.
"We would have played three away matches on the trot and we have travelled for all three of them. I think it's important to have the freshest guys on the field."
The match between the Springboks and Australia kicks off at 12:05.
