Fire ravages shacks – Philippi

Three are left homeless after four shacks burnt down in the Samora Machel informal settlement.

CAPE TOWN - Three people have been left homeless after four shacks burnt down in the Samora Machel informal settlement in Philippi.

Disaster Management Service's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says emergency services responded to a call late last night.

He says the cause of the fire is still unknown.

"Our disaster teams will be helping the affected people this morning and we will be attending to this family."
