Kirchner, Ralapelle added to Bok squad
Zane Kirchner and Chiliboy Ralapelle join the squad for the tour to Australia and New Zealand.
CAPE TOWN - Zane Kirchner and Chiliboy Ralepelle have been added to the squad for the tour of Australia and New Zealand.
They join the 26 players who returned from Argentina on Monday.
Ralepelle, who is the third hooker in the side, and recovering from a back injury, needs to pass a fitness test on Friday in order to travel with the team.
The Boks get together on Thursday and depart on Saturday for Brisbane via Sydney.
They play the Wallabies on 7 September and the All Blacks the week after.
Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer says his team is facing a tough task.
"This will be two tough weeks on the road against two of the best sides in the world and as we saw last weekend against Argentina, we still have a lot of hard work to do."
Meanwhile, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) announced on Wednesday that the Boks have a new kit sponsor.
Asics will take over from Canterbury in a six year deal that will run from 2014 to the end of 2019.
That includes two world cups in England and Japan.
SARU CEO Jurie Roux says they are excited about the new kit.
"This deal with leading sports performance brand _Asics _is a huge coup for SARU, and one we're very excited about.
"We are entering an enormously important period for South African rugby, encompassing two Rugby World Cups, as well as a new Springbok era under coach Heyneke Meyer. Asics' high level technical apparel and global brand reputation will help us both on and off the field."
