JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police commissioner Mzandile Petros confirmed on Saturday that he will definitely be leaving.
It is understood he will leave at the end of December.
Petros was speaking at the prestige awards for the police in Pretoria on Saturday night.
His departure from office has been met with calls for him to stay as the police battle escalating crime in the province.
Speaking at the same function, Gauteng safety MEC Faith Mazibuko called for lifestyle audits for the police as she believed some are driving luxury cars such as the BMW X6.
