Mugabe's inauguration underway

The re-elected Zimbabwean president and his wife arrived at his inauguration in style.

ZIMBABWE - President Robert Mugabe has arrived at Harare's National Sports Stadium, ready for his inauguration where authorities have organised a huge celebration.

However losing presidential candidate Morgan Tsvangirai, maintains last month's poll was rigged and has refused to attend.

Mugabe arrived at the stadium shortly after 11am this morning.

He and his wife Grace road in an open-top vehicle, waving their fists at the crowd before the national anthem was played.

This is the day Zanu-PF has been waiting for throughout the five years of the coalition with the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and the authorities are determined to have a huge celebration.

Mugabe will be sworn in by Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku, who dismissed Tsvangirai's election challenge in the Constitutional Court just two days ago.
