Opinion on race relations decrease
Research shows public opinion on race relations is at an all-time low in South Africa.
CAPE TOWN - Government's Development Indicators on Tuesday showed public opinion on race relations in South Africa has reached a record low.
The report says this could signal an urgent need for sustainable nation-building initiatives.
Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane released the 2012 Development Indicators in Parliament on Tuesday.
The annual report is aimed at tracking progress in implementing government policies.
Chabane said various trends are analysed.
"The indicators display the journey that our country has travelled to redress past imbalances and the progress that has been made to date. Development Indicators 2012 analyses strengths for each indicator, outlines progress made and points at areas where extra effort is required."
