CT downpours to continue
More than 50,000 people have been affected by flooding in the Western Cape.
CAPE TOWN - City of Cape Town Disaster Management officials say at least 50,000 people have been affected after their homes were flooded.
Residents occupying 3,000 households in 36 informal settlements in and around the city have been evacuated.
The management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said officials have provided relief aid to thousands of people.
Meanwhile, Nonprofit Organisation, the Mustadafin Foundation, says it has been inundated with requests for aid by those affected.
The foundation has assisted thousands of people this week alone.
MORE RAIN EXPECTED
The SA Weather Service's Edwin Thema has warned of more flooding.
"Warnings have been issued for heavy rain in the Cape Metropole which could result in localised flooding."
Solomons-Johannes added that if anyone needed any assistance, they should report it to the call centre on 0860 10 30 89.
