CAPE TOWN - Cheslin Kolbe is expected to play in Western Province's Currie Cup match against the Cheetahs this weekend.

Kolbe was taken off during the Bulls game at the weekend after he injured his knee.

He sat out of training on Monday.

Western Province backline coach Robbie Fleck says he should be back today.

"He has got a bit of a strain on his medial. At first we thought it was going to be a two or three week injury, but it is looking really positive for us that he is back in the mix. He should be back at training by Wednesday latest."

Kolbe has signed a three year deal with Western Province.

The match between Western Province and the Cheetahs kicks off at 19h15 on Saturday.
