CAPE TOWN - The City hopes to achieve the 12-year operating agreement for the MyCiti busses by the end of August.

52 busses are currently operating in the city, and this will increase to 300 by the end of the year once council approves the services.

The City's Brett Herron says the city will introduce the services to Hout bay, Atlantis, the Atlantic Seaboard and Melkbosstrand.

He says with the approval, these routes should be available within the next four to five months.

"We are building a closed feeder glass box station for the MyCiti bus service. There will be some road closures while we are constructing but also there will be a permanent closure prohibiting a right turn from Riebeek street into Adderly street in future."
