CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police say they have arrested a 21-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of a 7-year-old Atlantis boy.

Police would not speculate whether the shooting is gang related although police's Andre Traut said it was a "senseless shooting between two groups of criminals".

7-year-old Ruhan Botha was shot and killed at the scene while his mother and two other young men were wounded.

"We are searching for two more suspects and will stop at nothing until we satisfied that we have all those responsible for the death of Ruhan."

The Western Cape has been marred by incidents of gang violence in recent months. Over 30 people, including children, have been killed in gang cross fire.
