Rugby players welcome women
Pat Lambie and Tendai Mtawarira say the more women in rugby the better.
JOHANNESBURG - Springbok rugby players say in celebration of Women's Day, they hope to see more women getting involved in the sport.
The team handed out heart-shaped chocolates to women at OR Tambo international airport in celebration yesterday.
Springbok prop Tendai Mtawarira says the game shouldn't be considered a man's game;
"There needs to be more time taken to help women to develop their rugby. I think it's definitely very good that it's going that way so I just hope that within the next couple of years there's going to be more women playing rugby."
Pat Lambie agrees: "I think it's fantastic that there are women who love rugby as well, I think sport is a fantastic thing to participate in and the more women we can get playing rugby the better."
