CAPE TOWN - Cape Town Fashion Week organisers have said it will once again be proven that the Mother City is the home of fashion.

The eleventh annual Mercedes Benz Fashion Week kicked off at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) earlier this week.

More than 25 local designers are show-casing their spring and summer collections.

Established designers such as David Tlale and newcomers will be unveiling their collections over the next few days.

Organisers African Fashion International's Kyle Boshoff said Capetonians can expect a vibey event.

"The community within the city really gets involved and there's a real culture in Cape Town for local fashion, which impacts on the event from the attendance to the general vibe in the city."

Meanwhile, the Cape Town Fashion Council's Robin-Jade Carolis said she believes Capetonians have the look.

"We're definitely very creative with what we wear, not only the designers but the people in Cape Town itself."
