MTN8 Competition kicks off Friday

CAPE TOWN - SuperSport United captain Bevan Fransman is already speaking about the MTN 8 final before the knockout competition has even started.

Matsatsantsa face Orlando Pirates this weekend in the lucrative competition.

Supersport were last season's finalist and Fransman says they need to win the trophy this time round.

"This is a new year and there are a few new players. The players that have come in have done well so far. They have gelled well into the team so not much has changed. There has been a slight change in style of play, but it is still SuperSport and we have to keep the badge going".

Coach Calvin Johnson knows facing the Buccaneers will not be an easy outing.

"Pirates are always a very good team to play against and if they play anything like they played against Al Ahly then we have a big fight on our hands. We hope to be able to take the fight to Pirates at the Mbombela Stadium and may the football gods shine on SuperSport in order to win the game".

The match kicks off at 3pm on Sunday.
