JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sá has praised his players' tenacity in their 3-0 win over Egyptian side Al Ahly in the CAF Champions league this past weekend.
Pirates touched down at OR Tambo International Airport this morning after grabbing the top spot in Group-A in the competition.
De Sá says the team's preseason preparations played a massive role in getting the side ready.
"We knew quite a bit about them. We have been watching them closely and we prepared pretty well for that. I think the Chiefs game was important for us that we could have played a highly competitive team like that and obviously we prepared well".
De Sá has lauded the players for fighting as a unit.
"They just focused on the job at hand for those 90 minutes plus and it worked for us. It is difficult conditions because it is very hot and with the traveling the guys responded very well. And I think once again it was a massive team effort. I just hope we can continue".
