South Africa have lost the ODI series with one game left to play.

CAPE TOWN - The Proteas One Day International side is looking far from promising at the moment.

On Sunday, they lost the ODI series to hosts, Sri Lanka with one game still to play.

The Proteas batted first, posting 238 all out. JP Duminy scored 97 and Hashim Amla, returning from injury, contributed 77 runs to the South African cause.

In response, Tilakaratne Dilshan smashed 115 to see the hosts home with six overs to spare.

This was the highest successful run chase at Palekelle.

The final ODI, which is effectively a dead rubber, will be played in Colombo on Wednesday.
