CAPE TOWN - The African National Congress (ANC) in the Western Cape at the weekend said disciplinary processes against two party members who dumped human waste at the Cape Town International Airport last month are set to get underway soon.

ANC Councillor Loyiso Nkohla, controversial former councillor Andile Lili and five other protestors were recently released on bail.

The group was arrested after demonstrators' dumped raw sewage inside a terminal at the airport several weeks ago as part of ongoing protest action against poor sanitation services in some informal settlements in the Western Cape.

ANC Provincial Secretary Songezo Mjongile said, "The due process of the ANC is that we'll comment in due course in order to have them account for their actions."

He said they are taking the matter very seriously.

"This is why we have condemned it continuously. We actually went out to communities and are trying to find solutions to their problems."
