JOHANNESBURG - Police on Friday said they're investigating the possibility that the murder of a domestic worker during a robbery in Glenvista may have been an inside job.

Maboithatelo Taele was tied up and gagged at her employer's house on Thursday night, while a group of robbers stole the safe and other goods.

Xolani Gumede said his wife discovered the victim, nicknamed Elsie, in a cupboard.

He said they felt as if they've lost a member of their own family.

"She was like a part of the family. My three-year-old son preferred her [Elsie] over his mom."

Taele's family lives in Lesotho and her brother has been informed of the murder.

Officials are now looking for any leads.
