Erasmus to decide on future
SuperSport United waits on Kermit Erasmus to make up his mind about next season.
JOHANNESBURG - SuperSport United will find out today whether striker Kermit Erasmus will renew his contract or move to another club.
Erusmus still has a year left in his contract but Matsatsantsa have given him end of business today to make up his mind or they will put him on transfer because they do not want to lose him for free.
SuperSport's director of football Stan Mathews says three Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams are interested in Erasmus.
"Pirates, Sundowns and Chiefs have all made inquiries about Kermit. We gave the player up until Tuesday to tell us whether he wants to commit to us or not. If he commits to us he's not going anywhere. If he doesn't commit to us, then he's going to the best offer."
Mathews says the team will not be swayed by money on where Erasmus will go.
"There's been no money mentioned with any club. If Kermit tells us he wants to stay; he's not going anywhere. If he doesn't sign; he'll be on the transfer list."
The new PSL season starts at the end of July.
