JOHANNESBURG - The ANC has joined the growing number of people who have had to lodge a complaint against the City of Johannesburg for incorrect billing.

eNCA reported on Tuesday the ANC received an incorrect electricity bill for its Luthuli House headquarters in central Johannesburg.

ANC spokesperson Keith Khoza did not specify the amount the party was billed.

But reports said the ruling party got a bill for just over R3,5 million.

Khoza says the bill has since been corrected after a "standard investigation process".

"We raised the matter with the City of Johannesburg to investigate whether that bill was effectively correct or incorrect, like many other people who have disputed claims."

The municipality has been inundated by complaints from residents about incorrect billing.

The billing problem started in 2011.
