Honda Jazz recall in SA
Jazz models made between 2002 and 2008 have been recalled due to a fault with the window mechanism.
CAPE TOWN - The Retail Motor Industry (RMI) says Honda's decision to recall more than 20,000 of its Jazz models is only a precautionary measure.
The Japanese car manufacturer says the old Jazz model made between 2002 and 2008 has a recurring fault with the window control mechanism next to the driver's seat.
The problem was first picked up in 2009 after a Cape Town toddler died due to a fire that started in the electric window housing of the vehicle.
The RMI's Gary McCraw says Honda is being highly responsible with its latest recall.
"I don't think this is bad news from Honda, it's a precautionary measure which ensures that the problem can be quickly fixed on the window mechanism."
