Four arrested for taxi violence
The group was found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
JOHANNESBURG - Four suspects believed to be responsible for initiating taxi violence will appear in the Vereeniging Magistrate's Court on Monday.
The police's Lungelo Dlamini says the group was arrested over the weekend after being found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in the Vaal, south of Johannesburg.
Authorities say they were following information related to taxi violence as well as weapons used by so-called 'hitmen'.
Dlamini says the suspects will be charged with illegal possession of a firearm.
He says the suspects could also face charges of murder and attempted murder.
