Don't involve sports when solving problems - Evans
James Evans says sports needs to move forward and away from public disputes.
JOHANNESBURG - Suspended Athletics South Africa (ASA) President James Evans believes the country's athletics problems need to be resolved by people involved in the sport.
On Sunday Olympic body South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) suspended the entire federation.
This means athletes under ASA will not be included in future Team South Africa events at both youth and senior levels, including Commonwealth and Olympic games.
Evans says that sports needs to move forward and away from the public disputes.
"We need to get sports going and when we're up and ready we need to sit with SASCOC and sort this out. We also need to have control of sports without interference."
