CAPE TOWN - Western Cape traffic officials are out in full force as thousands of people embark on their mid-year school holidays.

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa warns officers will target several roads which are known to be high accident zones.

"We will be covering the N1 from Cape Town towards Paarl and then from Paarl up to Aberdeen. We will also be visible on the N2 and the West Coast road."

During the Easter weekend, at least 14 people were killed on the province's roads.

The provincial government has committed itself to reducing road deaths.
