CAPE TOWN - Residents of the Phumlani informal settlement in Grassy Park say they are struggling to deal with the disappearance of a young girl in their community.

Eight-year-old Kiana Williams was last seen nearly two weeks ago, playing with friends.

Her mother told police she realised her daughter was missing when she returned home after giving birth.

Kiana's neighbour Paula April says the last time she saw the child she was running to play with her friend who lives on the other end of the informal settlement.

April says they have been helping the police search for the girl ever since.

Meanwhile, police have intensified their search and have called on the community to help find the little girl.
