CAPE TOWN - The ANC in the Western Cape has vowed to stage more service delivery protests until the ruling party in the province takes poor seriously.

ANC officials led hundreds of protestors from across Cape Town in a service delivery march to the provincial legislature on Thursday. They are demanding better housing, sanitation and electricity.

The demonstrators wore T-shirts making their demands know. Some protestors became angry when Western Cape Premier Helen Zille didn't appear to accept their memorandum of demands.

The ANC's Songezo Mjongile says Zille has not only disrespected the poor but she has shown she's not interested in their needs.

"We are going to ensure that concrete action is taken to address our issues, whether she likes it or not."

Mjongile says they will continue protesting until Zille agrees to accept their memorandum herself.
