Pregnant CT woman drowns
Authorities found the body of a pregnant woman who reportedly drowned in the Berg River.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police said on Saturday they don't suspect any foul play in the death of a pregnant woman who was swept away in the Berg River.
The 24-year-old woman and her mother were crossing the river bridge on the Soetdraai Farm just outside of Piketberg on Friday when they were caught in the raging waters.
The woman's mother managed to save herself.
The police's Tembinkosi Kinana said the woman's body was found near the bridge on Saturday morning after an all-night search by rescue teams.
"The Western Cape police found the body of a woman who drowned in the Berg River. The body was later identified by the family. Police have opened an inquest docket."
