Land reforms about redressing the past
ANC Chief Whip Mathole Motshekga says land reform is about redressing the injustices of the past.
Speaking during a land claims workshop in parliament on Friday Motshekga said land reform is about redressing the injustices of the past.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 1913 Natives Land Act.
Cabinet has approved an amendment bill for public comment which will pave the way for the reopening of the land claims process which closed in 1998.
Motshekga said finding a solution to land redistribution will benefit everyone.
"We have to cooperate because finding a solution is for the benefit of all South Africans, black and white. We can't guarantee peace in this country unless we find an equitable solution to this challenge."
