JOHANNESBURG - Just days before murder accused Oscar Pistorius is scheduled to make his next appearance in court, pictures have emerged of the scene where he shot dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

British broadcaster Sky News has obtained several photographs showing different parts of the athlete's luxury Pretoria home after he shot and killed Steenkamp on Valentine's Day.

For the first time the public now gets to see the bathroom door through which Pistorius shot his girlfriend.

Police forensic markers pointing out the bullet holes are visible as are pools and smears of blood.

Significantly, these bullet holes are below the door handle, backing Pistorius's claim that he was not wearing his prosthetic legs at the time of the shooting.

The pictures also show blood splatter in other parts of the house which investigators are analysing to establish what really happened on that February morning.

It remains unclear how _Sky News _obtained the images after it emerged last month that at least a dozen police officers had their phones seized on suspicion of taking pictures of the crime scene.

Sky News is also reporting that the police officers involved in the investigation are being questioned after the disappearance of Pistorius' watch from the house.

The police have not been available for comment.
