CAPE TOWN - Gavin Hunt has announced that he will not be returning next season to coach SuperSport United.

Under Hunt's guidance SuperSport won three consecutive Absa Premiership League titles between 2007 and 2009.

Hunt was also named the ABSA Premiership coach of the year for three consecutive years.

"We will sit down with the board and chairman and review a shortlist. This is fresh - we also just want to get past today and parting ways with Gavin," said SuperSport Director of Football Stan Matthews.

Hunt says that the decision to leave SuperSport has not been an easy one to make. He was reluctant to comment on his move to Bidvest Wits next season.

"I think we will leave that for tomorrow or the next day. Today the focus is on SuperSport United. It's a sad and tough day for me today," Hunt said.

Wits COO Jonathan Schloss was understandably pleased with Hunt's move.

"He's a local coach, he's been there and done it. The trophies speak for themselves and the log doesn't lie. He's been in the top eight for many years."
