JOHANNESBURG - More than 100 patients had to be evacuated from the Dihlabeng Regional Hospital in the Free State after a fire broke out on Monday.

It is believed the blaze started in the kitchen.

Patients on the fourth floor had to be moved to the casualty ward as a result of the fire.

Free State Health Department spokesperson Mondli Mvambi said nobody was injured.

"We're expecting the firefighters to give us a full report by no later than Friday this week. We need to make sure that everything is in order so that we can put protocol systems in place again."
