CANNES - Award-winning director Robert Redford says he enjoys being just an actor sometimes.

The 76-year old filmmaker who is known for directing, producing and starring in movies is the only actor in All is lost, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last night to great acclaim.

Redford first came to Cannes in 1972 with the movie Jeremiah Johnson.

The Oscar-winning star has spoken about the concept behind All is lost.

"There are no other characters, there are no words and there is nothing to lean on."

He says he is still in love with the craft.

"I like the idea of just acting. I love directing, but I like acting a lot and I hope I can continue to do that."

His performance is already leading to some award worthy buzz.
