Suspected SA drug mule arrested

A woman arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs into India may be South African.

A woman arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle 26 kilograms of drugs into India may be South African.

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Consulate in India said on Saturday it has not yet made contact with a woman arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle 26 kilograms of drugs through a Mumbai airport.

The woman, identified as Sity Lentin, is apparently a South African citizen and was arrested while trying to board an Ethiopian flight to South Africa.

It's believed she was carrying a variety of drugs ranging from cocaine, Tik and Kat.

Indian media reports have labelled it the biggest drug bust in the country's history.

International Relations' Nelson Kgwete said, "They will contact the relevant law enforcement authorities to verify the identity of the woman and if she is South African they will provide her with assistance."
