JOHANNESBURG - In what appears to be a breakthrough on Saturday, police have arrested a suspect in connection with a mysterious murder in Ennerdale south west of Johannesburg.

The body of a 20-year-old woman was discovered in her locked home on Thursday night with no signs of forced entry.

The young woman's boyfriend arrived at her home in Ennerdale on Thursday night and was concerned when she didn't open the door.

He asked neighbours where she was but nobody had seen the 20-year-old leaving the home.

When her boyfriend looked through the window he saw the young woman lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

Police say she was stabbed eight times in the chest, four times in the neck and once on the hand.

All that was taken was jewellery, her laptop and a cellphone.

Police confirmed on Saturday that a 24-year-old woman was arrested but have not provided details on the crime.
