Moyes move to Old Trafford imminent
Everton manager David Moyes won’t return to Goodison Park next season.
CAPE TOWN - David Moyes is set to leave Everton after indicating his intentions to move to Manchester United.
Moyes has been linked to a move to Manchester following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson on Wednesday.
Moyes met Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright early on Wednesday and confirmed his desire to join Manchester United.
Everton still have two games remaining in the season and have announced that they will begin the search for a new manager immediately.
Earlier the club released a statement thanking Moyes for his service to the club.
"The Chairman, on behalf of the club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002. He has been an outstanding manager."
In his 11 years coaching Everton, Moyes has won "Premier League Manager of the Month" 10 times and won "Manager of the Year" on three separate occasions.
The Scot made more than 500 professional footballing appearances in his two-decade long playing career including stints at Celtic and Bristol City.
