JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs said it was baffled by Stuart Baxter's sending off during Sunday night's Nedbank Cup semifinal against United FC.

Baxter was given his matching orders by the match referee after a complaint by the fourth official in his sides 2-1 win.

This means Baxter will miss his side's crucial last two league matches where they are favorites to lift the cup.

Assistant coach Doctor Khumalo said the club is taken aback by the decision because they do not know what led to the sending off.

"Third and fourth officials would be able to clarify the matter."

Meanwhile, Chiefs said they would not let complacency creep into their camp after advancing to the final of the cup.

"At the moment we still have a lot to do. We are not going to rest so we still going to be working hard."
