Pule blames SABC and eTV

JOHANNESBURG - Communications Minister Dina Pule says eTV and the SABC are to blame for the delay in the launch of the country's digital terrestrial television.
The Minister said Parliament last year passed the standards that will govern the launch of the new technology, but a court order placed the onus on the broadcasters themselves to decide when the system would be launched.
The judgement has delayed the process as there are still divisions on who should manufacture set top boxes.
The Minister said, "Our department has already rolled out 80% of digital signal and any attempt to appeal will prolong the commencement of the plan."
