CAPE TOWN - Negotiations to put an end to a nationwide bus strike were still underway on Sunday, as commuters are set to begin another week that could see them stranded.

Thousands of bus drivers downed tools on Friday, leaving scores of commuters stranded.

Drivers are demanding an 18 percent wage increase while employers are tabling a 6.5 percent offer.

Golden Arrow Bus Services' Bronwen Dyke is urging commuters to continue making use of alternative forms of public transport.

"Golden Arrow regrettably advises that no bus services will be provided on Monday, 22 April 2013."
