Four men from Nyanga will spend life behind bars for the murder of an off-duty policeman.
CAPE TOWN - Four men from Nyanga will spend life behind bars for the murder of off-duty policeman Anele Latele.
The constable was gunned down and his car was stolen in Delft back in 2011.
Four gunmen in their 20s fled the scene and went on a robbery spree before they were eventually arrested.
The police's Tembinkosi Kinana said suspects were found guilty of murder and robbery and were sentenced in the Cape High Court this week.
"They were each sentenced to an effective period of 32 years and they were declared unfit to carry any firearms."
They will serve their sentence at Pollsmoor Prison.
Recently, an on-duty traffic officer was killed in Lavender Hill while issuing a fine to a motorist.
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder.
The case will be heard at the Western Cape High Court.
