CT braces for cold fronts
Cape Town can expect a wet and windy week ahead, the SA Weather Service said on Tuesday.
CAPE TOWN - The South African Weather Service (Saws) on Tuesday said Cape Town can expect a wet and windy week ahead.
The first of two cold fronts will move across the peninsula on Tuesday afternoon.
Saws said the fronts will bring adverse weather conditions before improving later this week.
Forecaster Henning Grobler said the cold fronts will bring autumn weather to the region.
"A second cold front will approach by Wednesday. We expect some fairly good rainfall to occur. We also expect cold conditions to set in by Thursday."
Grobler said a strong north-westerly wind can also be expected.
"The wind is currently around 45km/h which will then pick up to around about 60km/h into the evening."
On Wednesday, the city will see an 80 percent chance of rain.
