DA wants ANC-led municipality investigated
The DA claims that the Cederberg Municipality is not being managed properly by the ANC.
CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape believed a thorough investigation into the Cederberg Municipality would prove it was in shambles.
The Hawks swooped in on the ANC-led council on Friday following claims of fraud, corruption and nepotism.
Cellphones and computers owned by the municipality were seized as part of an ongoing investigation by the Public Protector.
The council also recently also come under fire for under spending on its annual budget.
The DA's Bokkie Geyer said the council lacked good management.
"When I put [together] the report that the ANC was running Cederberg to the ground I was told that I do not know what I am talking about."
The ANC in the Western Cape were not available for comment.
